Everything I do is from the heart. But nowhere did that feel less true than on my own wedding day.
Having planned events for celebrities and government officials as a Public Relations and Events Manager for over ten years, I expected wedding planning to be a breeze. Instead, without someone to advocate for my vision, my wedding plans were slowly overtaken by the wants and needs of others. So, on the big day, it was hard to enjoy the moment - because it didn't feel like a moment that was truly mine.
While this experience didn’t impact my happily ever after beside my husband and two children, it did shape the way I see events and planning. That’s why, I made a heartfelt promise that no one should endure the same sense of disconnect and strain that I experienced.
